Dear Past & Present NCC Clients,
I have enjoyed working with the community of Battle Ground and Clark County for over a decade now. Where we built, repaired and upgraded over 80,000 computer systems since the early 1990s. Many have been clients for nearly fifteen years. It is with deep appreciation and honor that I am now announcing the end of an era and a new beginning for NCC.
Several months ago I (Zeb N. Cameron) left NCC where I was IT Manager and cofounder, to join Excelsior Computer Solutions LLC an IT outsourcing and solution provider and we continue to serve many Clark County businesses seeking web development, custom software, network engineering, business software administration, IT consulting, custom servers and other IT services.
Not to long ago Bob Cameron Owner & Sales Manager moved operations from Battle Ground closer to his home in Yacolt, where he will continue business. You can still reach him by calling 360-687-9364 he plans to focus more on retail sales, wholesale distribution and online sales with lower overhead.
Peter Nichol (Pete), Computer Technician & System Engineer who came to NCC from ProSystems whom I enjoyed working with these last few years. Left NCC and was hired almost immediately by Northwest Custom Computers Inc. Because of his extremely well known talent and expertise. Peter was the fastest and most efficient computer technician I have ever known and far superior to our competition. I wish him luck.
Justin Orndorf, Online Sales Rep. is completing his degree and moving on to other endeavors. The exact details are unknown.
The future and advancement of technology is ever changing and we are entering into a new stage where even though we could easily compete in price wars with our new PCs starting at $299 and high end machines benchmarking high above that of our competition. Personal Computers are fast becoming disposable appliances that are no longer logical or affordable to repair and will be selling for around $99 soon, except for high end workstations, servers, and game stations.
Computer viruses have long been a serious
threat and problem for end-users who did not install and keep up-to-date virus
protection. Virus removal accounts for 33%+ of repairs for most computer service
companies. Those days are also expected to come to an end as ISPs and email
client vendors are expected to be providing free virus protection. It is for
these reasons that I believe we as IT professionals must soon adapt yet again
and focus on higher end projects if we do not want to become obsolete
ourselves.
Sincerely,
Zeb N. Cameron, BBCNT

Note: Looks like I was right the cell phone revolution took off in a huge way and many people use mobile divices as replacements to the PC. Its been nice to read this again and see its right on the money. The $99 computer repair might be due to the $99 PC I am guessing as the war rages on in the hearts of men.
Dispte the opinions of certain church leaders I do and did know Windows XP, actually currently I know dos 5.x/Windows 3.1 all the way to Windows 7, Redhat 7+, Fedora, Mac OS 7+, Suse 9+, CentOS 5+, MS Exchange 2000+, Windows SBS, and the list goes on.
As I look at things I am amazed at the influence we had in this area. I remember the old store where my father put out a home made sandwitch board sign brown with green painted letters, now they are common practice in Battle Ground and around town. We were the first to help bring DSL to Battle Ground, WA. thanks to a partnership with New Edge. We also pioneered the "Deer tin power supply" and brought it to local distribution in the North West many of these are still in use today.
We discovered and helped solve the power fuxuation issue that burns out many computers and microwave ovens. If you have this issue ask an electrician to check the neutral at the electrical box and sometimes the transformer needs replacement even. As far as I can tell my father's vision for North County Computers was to supply inexpensive computers and services to low income families. Often the quality of hardware was not what I wanted. That was most of the down fall and weakness. We did everything with no grant money or government assistance they did however play a huge role in shutting down the business. To this day I wonder why its so difficult to get them to help create jobs and start businesses since managing jobs, currency, and land is really all they need to do. The santa claus chair style town hall should be the standard opperating procedure. Just google Zeb Cameron to read some of my blogs about the lines for what you are supposed to do and list of opportunities resulting in package deals.
There are litterally three computer service companies to replace us in Battle Ground this is due to poor management mostly. I am happy for them even though we should have just joined forces long ago.
My new mission is to use what influences people internet radio and TV. Most of that I have already done with CGIpro and Cellecast on the Lou Dobbs Radio Show now I just need to work on some TV related projects.
